Examine the data, law, economics, technology and practical realities surrounding a problem before proposing a solution.
Model State Project researches practical approaches to civic, economic, technological and community problems—and develops the strongest ideas into working institutions, projects and public initiatives.
MSP exists to move beyond commentary. We study problems, develop evidence-based approaches, build the infrastructure needed to test them, and create durable organizations when an idea proves worthy of becoming something larger.
Not every idea should become a campaign or an organization. MSP gives ideas room to be researched, challenged and developed before deciding what form—if any—they should take.
Examine the data, law, economics, technology and practical realities surrounding a problem before proposing a solution.
Convert promising ideas into working models, technical systems, operating plans and testable real-world projects.
Mature work can become an independent organization, an advocacy initiative, a commercial project, or a durable public resource.
MSP initiatives are judged by whether they can become credible, operational and measurable—not merely whether they sound compelling.
Arizona Network for Conservation, Heritage, Open-space & Rural Lands. ANCHOR works to preserve Arizona's rural land, open space, agricultural character and natural landscapes through voluntary, durable conservation.
Its first active initiative in Wittmann and Whispering Ranch helps willing landowners protect property from subdivision and incompatible rezoning while ANCHOR develops broader conservation-easement, land-donation and long-term stewardship programs.
A future independent advocacy organization intended to provide a lawful path for selected MSP research and policy concepts to move from analysis into public action.
Research should preserve sources, assumptions and uncertainty rather than disguising them.
A serious solution needs governance, technology, financing, operations and accountability—not merely messaging.
Projects should define what success means and retain the evidence needed to determine whether it was achieved.
Research, advocacy, commercial activity and charitable programs should operate through structures appropriate to their purpose.
